Markel Corporation Names Jon Kirchner Chief Executive Office.
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Markel Corporation, the leading industrial technology manufacturing company making fluoropolymer-based products, today announced that Jon Kirchner has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Since joining Markel in July 2018 in an interim capacity, Kirchner has repositioned the organization to be customer-first, focused squarely on elevating manufacturing operations and expanding the product portfolio to meet the needs of Markel’s global customer base.

To this role, Kirchner brings leadership and business transformation experience across global organizations in the engineering, critical infrastructure, satellite and aerospace industries. A proponent of data analytics, applied Industrial Automation, and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) thinking, he will apply these concepts to accelerate Markel’s path to growth through enhanced manufacturing operations and a strong commitment to superior product quality, for both new and existing products.
