About the “I Have a Dream” Foundation

 

Our Work

The “I Have A Dream” Foundation works to ensure that all children have the opportunity to pursue higher education, fulfill their potential, and achieve their dreams. We empower children (“Dreamers”) in under-resourced communities to graduate from college by equipping them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in postsecondary school, along with tuition support to remove financial barriers. By helping our Dreamers gain access to college, we are putting them on a different academic and life trajectory, while having a broader impact on the students’ families and the generations that follow.

IHDF works with Dreamers after school, on the weekends, and over the summer for over ten years, developing long-term relationships with Dreamers and their families. We provide academic and socio-emotional support to Dreamers, equipping them with the confidence and life skills needed to pursue their most ambitious dreams.

 

Mission

The “I Have a Dream” Foundation’s mission is to empower children from under-resourced communities to succeed in school, college, and career by providing academic, social, and emotional support from elementary school through college, along with postsecondary tuition assistance.

 

Vision

Our dream is a world where every child has equal access to the educational and career opportunities that will ignite their innate potential.

Platinum Level (USD $250)

Full Access to all the action allowing you to interact during the wine & cooking demonstration! You will receive a panelist link giving you accessibility to cook on screen right along with Chef Ulrich-don’t worry, you will receive a full ingredient list & directions prior to the event.

Gold Level (USD $100)

You will receive a registration link that will give you a front row seat to the live event! This attendee link only allows you to watch the event and follow along but not interact. You will receive a full ingredient list and directions prior to the event.

Celebrity Vintner Allegra Antinori

 

Piero Antinori says that all three of his daughters, Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia Antinori have the two ingredients most necessary to produce fine wine: brains and passion. Born in January 1971, Allegra is the middle daughter. Like her sisters, she was raised in the family’s 15th century Palazzo Antinori in the center of Renaissance Florence as well as on the family’s wine estates in Chianti Classico and Bolgheri where summers and weekends were spent helping the wine ‘grow.’ She has been involved with the family company since she was very young. She spent six weeks each year from 1989 to 1993 overseeing the harvest at each of the Antinori estates in Tuscany. Allegra has attended wine courses all over Europe and worked the harvest of 1991 at Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley, California. Until 1999, she directed Public Relations and represented the family at international wine events. All three Antinori sisters specialize in different aspects of the business, but each understands that the whole is more than the sum of its parts. Executive Chef Parke Ulrich

 

Renowned in the Bay Area as the esteemed executive chef and partner of iconic San Francisco waterfront restaurants, Waterbar and EPIC Steak, Parke Ulrich brings his high standards, creativity and passion for fresh, sustainable, and responsibly sourced ingredients to the menu at Mersea.  Mersea is Ulrich’s opportunity to showcase his talent and passion for excellence in a dining concept that is world-class yet approachable.  He envisions Mersea as a place to bring people together, make connections, and serve as a cultural hub for the Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island communities.

Before moving to Northern California, Ulrich learned the importance of quality ingredients and the unstinting pursuit of excellence in the classic French kitchen of five-star restaurant Le Bec Fin in Philadelphia.  A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Ulrich’s professional culinary career began in 1989 in Aspen at the Hotel Jerome, where he was quickly promoted to lead line cook.  He eventually left Aspen to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where he graduated first in his class.
