Steve joined Hobbs & Towne, Inc. in 2006 to support the growth of its technology and energy practices. He has over 20 years of recruiting and consulting experience for a wide variety of organizations ranging from private businesses to publicly traded technology and Fortune 500 companies to investment funds.
He has a diverse assignment history in agriculture, food, next-generation energy, advanced sciences, and sophisticated IT-related ventures. He has successfully placed CEOs, Board Directors, Senior Technology Executives and their teams for a range of clients within all functional disciplines including synbio, agtech, next-generation human and animal nutrition and therapeutics, consumer products, plant genetics, horticulture, IoT, AI, distributed power generation, energy efficiency, water technology, and advanced lighting and sensors.
Additionally, Steve has worked with some the world’s leading venture capital, corporate venture, private equity, and family office investors including Cycle Capital Management, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Flagship Pioneering, BASF Venture Capital, Middleland Capital, Pangaea Ventures, S2G Ventures, Enertech Capital, Khosla Ventures, Evonik Venture Capital, Pegasus Capital, Soffinova Partners, Anterra Capital, Avrio Capital, and Northwater Capital.
Before joining Hobbs & Towne, Steve developed and grew the Web Services and Enterprise Integration practice for MAGIC Consulting in its Philadelphia office, where he managed such clients as Juniper Networks, Vitria, Systinet, JBoss, and Chordiant Software. Before that, he worked at a leading Pacific Northwest boutique search firm, where he conducted projects for companies headquartered in the Pacific Northwest. Along with delivering top talent for Seattle-based companies, he led the development and expansion of national client relationships with companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Rational Software, Nortel/Architel, GTE, Plumtree, Quintessent, and Nightfire.
