Roland Olsen joined Hobbs & Towne, Inc. as Vice President of Technical Resources in 2001, bringing a wealth of technology knowledge, project management and delivery experience along with an extensive network of professional contacts in the technology marketplace. In 2007, he was named a Senior Partner of Hobbs & Towne.
The need for top-flight executives is paramount to any early-stage and emerging company’s success, and Roland has played a prominent role in bringing those executive leaders to our clients at critical times of their development. Drawing from his technology background and extensive network, and by keeping pace with emerging technologies, he can assess a client’s needs and find the ideal fit. As such, Roland has made high-profile placements at the Board level and throughout the C-Suite within the portfolios of some of the world’s top investors and across a wide range of technologies and business models in Bio (Agtech, Foodtech, Sustainability and Medtech/Biotech) and Tech (AI/ML/Data Science, Transportation/Mobility, IoT/Cyber, Smart Cities/Buildings, Robotics and Energy).
Prior to joining Hobbs & Towne, Roland co-founded SSG Solutions, a boutique IT consulting firm specializing in technology consulting services and senior-level technology placements. He also spent nine years at IBM in various technical and leadership capacities, from application developer and project leader to project manager and senior consultant. Roland was one of IBM’s first consultants to participate in external outsourcing engagements, and one of its first SAP developers.
Roland studied Computer Science at Northeastern University, where he was a three-time captain on the Men’s Volleyball Team. He and his wife, Kelley, have three daughters, Olivia, Lucy and Lila.
