Paul brings a unique blend of skills and experience to Hobbs & Towne, leveraging years of work in global finance and his experience as a successful entrepreneur in the clean energy space. He quickly established himself as a key member of the firm in the industrial technology and sustainability sectors, with a passion for the burgeoning commercial space industry, the transportation and advanced mobility sectors, and the circular economy.
Paul has worked with several investors and high-growth organizations to solve their most critical strategic hiring challenges. He has placed executives at companies backed by some of the premier investors in the world, including Andreessen Horowitz, KCPB, Y Combinator, Social Capital, Playground Global, Mark Cuban, Brookfield Asset Management, and Oaktree Capital. He has advised bleeding-edge startups including Relativity Space, Apeel Sciences, Sunlight Financial, Closed Loop Partners, and Colorzen.
Prior to joining the firm, Paul co-founded Sealed Inc., the first company ever to contractually guarantee energy savings in homes. Additionally, Paul spent seven years in finance, most recently with ED&F Man in London. He has lived and worked in Chicago, New York, London, and Hong Kong, and built a diverse personal and professional network across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Paul graduated from the University of Illinois with degrees in business and trumpet performance. He is active in the arts, both as a patron and performer. He was the Founding President of the Overture Council of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and he is a past member of the Skokie Valley Symphony and Union League Brass Ensemble. Paul is a seasoned international traveler who enjoys running, swimming, and skiing.
