AutoGrid Systems, a leader in big data analytics and cloud computing solutions for the energy industry, announced today that Dave Garcia has been appointed vice president of worldwide field operations.

“We are thrilled to welcome someone with Dave’s track record to join our team,” said Amit Narayan, CEO of AutoGrid. “His deep experience in building and scaling world-class enterprise software sales and support organizations at startups, as well as large organizations, will be instrumental in managing and accelerating our customer growth.”

Garcia brings to AutoGrid a solid track record of building high-performing teams and fostering strong customer relationships. As VP of sales at SAP, he managed mission-critical applications and professional services. Prior, Garcia drove 20 percent year-over-year growth as VP of sales and alliances for Datango, an internationally based company that was acquired by SAP. He has also held sales leadership positions at Softscape and OnDemand Software, which was acquired by Oracle.

“AutoGrid has already forged a market leadership position in what I believe is one of the largest business opportunities in the software space,” said Garcia. “I look forward to working with Amit and the rest of the team to further expand our leadership role in applying big data analytics to the energy sector.”

On a fast-paced, high-growth trajectory since launch, AutoGrid announced their first energy app, Demand Response Optimization and Management System (DROMS) in 2012. In 2013, AutoGrid opened up its underlying Energy Data Platform (EDP) to third-party application developers to help accelerate the delivery of groundbreaking new products for the energy industry.

Power providers, including Oklahoma Gas & Electric, Austin Energy, E.ON, and City of Palo Alto Utilities, have announced the use of AutoGrid’s big data analytics technology to improve the reliability and productivity of their operations. AutoGrid has also partnered with several global organizations, such as NTT DATA, Schneider Electric, and Silver Spring Networks, to expand its market reach around the world.
